The CLT Life Presents 704 Shop.
Are you looking for a gift or apparel that is uniquely Charlotte? If so, we’ve got you covered.
704 Shop is one of Charlotte’s iconic stores for finding truly authentic Charlotte apparel.
The CLT Life‘s Jimmy Grappone recently had the opportunity to speak with 704 Shop‘s Leroy Johnson for a unique tour of the store.
704 Shop specializes in Queen City-inspired t-shirts, hats, socks, and more. To join in the latest trend, they even sell fashionable face masks.
One thing that sets the store apart from other retail stores is the uniqueness of their apparel. They create a new design weekly and rarely re-release a design once it’s sold out.
704 Shop began as a passion project of three UNC Charlotte students and became a business five years ago. The trio began selling their wares at popup shops and quickly developed a cult following.
Eventually, they were able to open up a brick and mortar store and opened at their current location in Charlotte’s South End neighborhood.
Charlotte Sports Meet Culture
704 Shop’s Carolina Panthers and Charlotte Hornets gear is some of the most creative sports apparel you will find anywhere. The store recently signed a partnership with the newest MLS team, Charlotte FC.
The store’s owners and staff are also committed to making an impact in the community. In the wake of the May 2019 shooting at the founders’ alma mater, UNC Charlotte, the store raised $50,000 to donate to the school through their Charlotte Love campaign.
They’ve also not sat idly by during recent protests opposing police brutality and in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.
Whether you’re looking for a uniquely Charlotte souvenir or a wearable “piece of art” to show your love for your hometown, The CLT Life recommends a visit to 704 Shop.
You can visit 704 Shop in person at their South End location or online at www.704shop.com.
